Bespoke craftsmanship · Nairobi

Spaces where life settles in.

We are a Nairobi studio that builds offices and homes. Before any cut is made, we draw the room. Then we render it. You walk through it on screen first. Only then do we touch your site.

What we make

Four disciplines, one hand.

Decided before it is made

The 3D render is the proof.

We build the room twice. Once in render, once in plaster, glass and joinery. Drag to compare.

How we work

The studio's hand.

01

We listen.

Free site visit. We walk your space, take measurements, ask the questions your brief has not answered yet.

02

We draw it.

Hand sketches first, then hyper-realistic 3D. You see your finished room before a single thing is cut.

03

You approve the cut.

Materials, dimensions, finish. Written, signed, agreed. Then we open the toolbox.

04

We build.

Joinery fabricated in our Nairobi workshop. Installed on site against the approved render.

A note from the studio

A room is an expensive thing to guess at. Most fit-out costs do not come from the cutting. They come from the re-cutting, the changed specification, the dimension agreed by phone.

We started Mchoro Mawe to stop that from happening. The render is the contract. What you sign off on screen is what we build, finish for finish. By the time we arrive on your site, every decision is already made.

That is the entire offer.

From clients
Mchoro Mawe built our reception in walnut and you can still run a hand across it eighteen months later and feel that it was made by people who care about the cut.
Boutique hotel operator · Riverside Drive, Nairobi
The studio understood how we already lived in the house before they touched a pencil to a drawing. The renovation feels like our habits, not a designer's opinion.
The K. family · Karen, Nairobi
They drew the entire fit-out before any contractor arrived. Eleven weeks later we walked into exactly the room we had signed off in 3D. There were no surprises and there were no variations.
